Does anyone have any experience with the revo stx and mgx where the drag is slipping and I only have about 5lbs of drag on each. I read on tackle warehouse that people were having the same problem but they all sent their reels back to TW or Abu but I'm not interested in getting a new reel. I have a lot of time put in cleaning and polishing the just internals on my reels and replacing the grease with synthetic Teflon grease (the problem originally occurred prior to that) and that alone takes a tremendous amount of time to do correctly. I did read on a website that one guy switched the placement of a washer on a revo gen 2 and got 15lbs of drag but he wasn't clear on whether he added a washer or just moved one already in the reel. The problem first occurred on a very damp humid day if that makes a difference.

And the problem went away immediately after a full clean out of my reels but today they went back to the same 5lbs of drag which is what makes me think that the weather has something to do with this problem.

Neither, I talked with the head reel tech over at Abu and he said the same thing and he is sending me 6 of those washers so I can tighten up the drag. He also said that even though they are not assembled this way the carbon drag system that these reels have is meant to be stacked dry so I pulled them apart again and cleaned them but I didn't quite put them back in completely dry,I put a very thin, thin layer of grease on and now I have what seems to be even more than the 12lb stock drag. I will also be installing mono backers on all my reels now which I should have always been doing, not to mention how much cheaper it is to do that, especially the reels that have 15lb or 20lb 8fiber braid that takes more than a full roll of. Thanks for the help.
