Just curious as to where you fished..Belton is a tough lake as it is..Smallies are the main bite it seems.

I fished two weeks ago and caught around 10 fish 5 being keepers and two smallies on finess worms super shallow in trees less than 5 feet. You would think they would be deeper this time of year...

Key for me is to find shad shallow then pitch or crank the trees water ain't all that cold yet. Caught a 6.4 in 10 feet last Monday and broke off a giant smallie in 5 yesterday caught a few more good ones after too. Tried the same thing on stillhouse today and caught a few as well.

The only bait I've been seeing is scattered in 45' of H2O.
