I keep most of my soft plastics in the original bag and I'm trying to get reorganized. I still have a bunch in the 3700 style boxes, but trying to get away from that as much as possible. I have too many types, colors and volume to use those. What I'm looking for are boxes to hold soft plastics that are still in the bag. Ideally they would be the width (8")and height (6") of your average bait bag and about 12" long. Anyone using this style storage? Ideas?

My cousin uses the Berkley Soft Bait binder. I have flipped through it a couple of times and had no issues getting to certain baits and etc. A good way to keep your plastics organized if you like keeping them in the original packaging. I have mine in tackle boxes which is just my preference. http://www.amazon.com/Berkley-BASBB1490-P-Soft-Bait-Binder/dp/B00C7KMWMK

I prefer to keep my plastics in its original packaging, too. I keep my stockpile on pegboards in the garage and then take what I need each trip.

Here's my suggestion....buy a 3" binder or greater and punch holes in the tops of the bags before the seal...slide your bags on and done....keeps the original package and keeps it organized...outside the box thinking....

I like those. They look like better boxes. A little big, but they'd probably work.

I use several different brands and sizes of soft side zippered bags like the yellow ones from Bass Pro shop and soft side travel bags. These type are cheaper than the soft side tackle boxes that come with the plano type boxes in them. http://www.basspro.com/Offshore-Angler-Boat-Bags/product/10204598/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAILI find small travel bags at garage sales also that work for tackle storage..and I get them cheap..

I had the soft sided binder type years ago and prefer a clear plastic box. I was in Home Depot today and found some I think will work. They're a little shallow, but I got three to try. They are 13 1/8" x 7 5/8" x 4 1/2" with a hinged lid. $3 each. They had some others that had a white removable lid for $1.30 each. These are in the flooring section with garage storage stuff. FYI they also have 3700 type boxes in the tool box area that are a lot cheaper than Plano boxes.

I prefer to keep my plastics in its original packaging, too. I keep my stockpile on pegboards in the garage and then take what I need each trip. This is what I do as well,,,,,,but for the boat I have gotten just what the OP asked about......... a shoebox size plastic box with a hinge lock lid (to open both ends unlatch and remove completely. Got them at Wal-Mart, $2.88 each. Perfect size for Zoom Fluke & 7" Worm bags. Larger bags can go side ways. I can fit 4 boxes in the front storage compartment of my Skeeter 185 and still have room for towels or other "stuff". I store by type of plastic baits; worms, flukes, Senkos, craws & lizards. You can put about 20 bags per box. I have tried the big storage boxes (letter file) and I have tried the zip lock gallon storage bags. plus I have more Plano plastic trays than I person should be allowed to buy. This is by far the best set up I have found to date. Easy to store, easy to get to & can organize any way you want to.

I keep them in the original packaging at home. I have about 14 hefty jumbo 2.5 gallon storage bags--they will store about twenty bags of plastics. one for lighter colored craws and tubes/ one for darker colors same for creatures and lizards, worms 6 inches and under, longer worms, fluke type plastics/swim jig trailers, jig trailers/grubs, and frogs Then, before I go fishing, I'll get an empty jumbo 2.5 gallon storage bag and pick and choose individual baits to take in their original packaging. When I get back from fishing, I'll put the individual packages back in their jumbo bag
