We are very excited to be providing a solid Striper Tournament series for the anglers who fish on Lake Texoma. After talking with some of the anglers at the Texoma tournament, we believe we could easily add at least two more tournaments on Lake Whitney and Possum Kingdom to next years schedule. The dates would be as follows: February 15 - Lake Whitney April 19 -- Possum Kingdom The tournaments would have the same rules as our BLT Striper Challenge rules on Lake Texoma. * Two largest stripers weighed in per team. * One to six members per team * $200 entry fee per team Check out the www.usafishingtrails.com website and then click on the BLT Striper Challenge logo to get to the Striper webpage. The menu tab is at the top of the webpage to view the rules, payouts, schedule, entry forms, on line credit card payment and tournaments results. Please post your thoughts and or questions, if you are interested. Thanks, USAFT staff

I'll fish both the Whitney and PK tournaments. As I stated at the tournament at The Texoma...... After I secure guaranteed money for the TSA Ill work on money for your tournament at PK.

Randy, you know your going to win that Tourney at PK. Maybe we need a novice or non guide section. Hard to compete with your 30+ years of fishing that lake.

That's not necessarily true. There are a lot of great tournament crews out there that are very capable of winning on any given lake with a little prefishing. With a lot of prefishing there even better! Even against guides on there home lake.Happens all the time.

PKFishing - It is tough to beat some of these guys. They know what they are doing, but when you do beat them, it feels really good and you have done something. I never thought I would beat HighTech Redneck on Whitney, but I finally did bring his winning streak to a close. Most of the tournaments it does seem like the guides win, but the really good part is it gives you an opportunity to talk to them and learn from them. You really should come on out and join us. It is a lot of fun. One last thing.....I do plan on beating Randy at the next PK Tournament! GMB

Good luck with beating Randy.
As for me, I'm still a novice. The stripers at PK have destroyed all my ole Black Bass fishing gear and the stuff I have now can get them in most of the time. I can usually catch a few especially when they are biting. Randy catches them when they ain't bitin...

PKfishin,
You can pick up to 6 members on a team to compete in our BLT Striper Challenge tournaments. Surely you could find 5 more teammates who could keep you competitive with anybody who entered??!!
Hope to see you at the lake,

Pk your giving me to much credit.....the fish have to open there mouth slightly for me to catch them

Yea, but if you follow the results of tournaments on PK or Texoma, it is almost always a guide that wins. There is a lot of difference in fishing a lake 1 time a month and fishing it 3-5 days a week as a guide.

Ruff N Redi,
Once we decided to provide striper tournaments, for those anglers who fish for stripers, we had to make a decision whether to allow guides to enter the events. The conclusion we drew was that the guides would make the experience more fun and competitive for those who entered. The $200 entry fee could be shared by up to 6 members on a team. We wanted the striper events to be a fun experience and the guides could help us spread the word about the tournaments.
We also felt the guides could help us get the word out to more anglers and over time would be the reason the participation would increase.
Hope to see you at the next one,

I don't care if the guides win. They are the best fisherman. I read this forum because they constantly post very very useful info. Most posts by guides tell you the lake, where on the lake and have pictures with the baits they are using.
I think guides have a rough gig. It's one thing to fish when you want to go but guides have to go when the customer wants to. You know, when it's raining, cold and raining, when the waves look like the Atlantic and when we have those blue bird days when the fish are deep and have lockjaw.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
