I have back issues, and would get tired and sore sitting on the trolling motor foot control, no with the I pilot Link, I can fish from any where on the boat. I can spot lock to retrieve a lure that is hung up. Hell, I can spot lock and jump in the lake and take a swim. I spot lock on areas I see fish on the graph. Remember it is like having a single talon or power pole, you have to use the wind. You face into the wind and use the spot lock and you will stay where you are. I love the auto pilot feature, Set it on a straight line course, and it will automatically correct for wind and currents. I pick a line and only have to reset the direction every 20 minutes or so depending on the under water topography. I Do NOT use the follow the terrain feature with my humming bird, It is irritating, as the topography changes every few feet. But for spot lock and auto pilot, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like it. I have had mine 2 years. I have add to replace the drive shaft once under warranty and just recently out of pocket. Stumps and the fact it can bounce up and slam down on the stump is what I think causes the problem. The anchor feature is the best part but power poles can do same in shallower water. If you have birds get the link since it will allow you to follow contours which would be very useful. I hardly use and other features. Next time power poles and back to cable drive minkota Fortrex. The spot lock takes time to adjust and once poles are down boat is not moving.

I really like mine and would love it if it worked consistently. Sometimes the remote doesn't work for no apparent reason. It doesn't turn on, turns off once in a while when it shouldn't and releases the anchor lock even though you didn't press any buttons. I was using the remote exclusively but I had to start bringing the pedal along just in case the remote didn't work.

Things I like about it when it works: anchor lock, cruise control (you can set it to cruise at whatever speed you like), autopilot and of course the fact that you can control everything from anywhere on the boat.

The anchor lock has a margin of error of a few feet that's why it doesn't work well in a field of tall stumps because it might drift into them. In that case I just throw a rope around a stump.

Mine has worked flawlessly from day one.
I haven't even begun to explore the trackback features and the route features
I got it for the remote and for the anchor lock system.
I did not used to fish in wind,,,,,,,now I do not mind at all. I fish windy points all day long and never have to touch the trolling motor. I can park it in a spot to fish a brush pile or underwater bridge/rock pile and never have to worry about where I am in relationship to the brush or structure.

The only draw back for me was leaving the remote on the back deck and taking off.

Nice to fish deep with 20mph wind from the back deck.
Or long line a 10xd from the casting chair on the back deck.
Shallow stumps take a little getting used to but once you do you will never want another TM.

There is a slide plate that will let you move the terrova back and forth. I did not need to drill any new holes when I switched over from a motor guide.

I don't have much info that everyone hasn't already covered, but as everyone has already stated it is a great TM when linked to you're HB unit. Face into the wind and wait until your boat starts drifting back a little before enabling spot lock to get best results. Also it works better when the wind is blowing hard. If it's calm it will drift 10-15' and can become annoying, blowing 30 you're not moving an inch. Track back feature is awesome especially on a new lake where you don't know the ramps or fishing at night when you can't see where you're going. Follow the line you've already made and you'll get back home. I added a Velcro strap to the deck of the boat to strap it in while under power so you don't have to adjust the collar every time you move. Follow the contour can be useful under certain circumstances but I use the foot pedal to avoid aggravation while fishing docks and banks. Sometimes the contour will jog out and back in on small points and your boat will follow. Remote control is nice while waiting to launch in tourneys. Sit in the chair and drive by remote until launch boat comes out. Also if fishing stump fields adjust the collar so that the motor is barely in the water. It helps.

Best thing I have bought for my boat. Wish the mount was a little different but I don't see myself ever going back to a cable steer.
