Bottled water at any airport, $1.95 for a 20 oz bottle, and they're standing in line to buy it!!

Yes I haven't fished as much lately. Instead of running wide open I run about half as fast now. Of course I still have the old canoe. Just have to eat a bigger bowl of wheaties so I can paddle longer. It will cutout some of my tournys next year, if prices keep going up. Filling the boat at $100.00 and the truck at about $75.00 hurts.

I have a place on Rayburn that I can hardly afford to go to. $50 for Gas for the Expedition and another $50 for the boat used to make at least two trips, now only makes one. So, instead of going twice a month, I'm down to once a month, which with mortgage payment, utilities, etc. figures out to be about $350 a nite.... or figuring 10 -15 lbs of Bass a trip (which I don't even keep) runs somewhere between $25-$35 a pound. Luckily the boat is paid for!!!!!

"My neighbor's breath smells like gasoline and my truck went threw a half a tank sitting in the driveway..." Sounds to me like you're getting just a little too close to your neighbor if you can smell their breath. Mints??

Back in '78 or 79 when gas doubled pretty quick I noticed my Bronco wasn't getting near the gas milage that it used to. I put locking caps on and my milage went back up. Maybe I should have checked my neighbors breath to see it it smelled like gas.
I would imagine that siphoning tanks might be a problem again if prices continue to go up.

I got siphoned at Stillhouse last week. Had to call my wife to bring a gas can. If I had a hose I would have siphoned from the boat. But carrying around a hose nowadays will get you in trouble.

ME!! I have fished the last 3 times out on Ray Hubbard becasue I cannot afford to drag the boat East. That is saying a lot since I really don't like Hubbard. All I seem to catch out there is small fish. You've got to know some good deep holes this time of year on Hubbard and most people I talk to don't care to give those kind of spots up. So I will continue to fish the small coves down by the dam...at least I'm not getting skunked.
Glad to have taken..."the trash in the back!"

Still beats walki'n or paddl'n. Look at it this way it cost 8 dollors for a gallon of gatorade, you are getting a great deal for gas!

Sfotw you can siphon gas from your boat with the hose that goes to your motor just take the fitting that hooks on you motor off and squeeze the bulb till it starts coming out. It takes awhile, but it works.

you know all you good people, that are trying to figure out how to go fishing cheaply, and think its our duty to tighten our belts, or move close to a lake, just so you can enjoy your sport, it reminds me as a form of masicism, you all enjoy pain, i dont. i think if all the sportmen would get togeather and lobby our goverment for a cost of liveing raise, equal elect, water, gas, prices are sky high, and im not talking about ten cents an hr. sportmen as a whole have a lot of clout, as a unit, if its possible we could get togeather my self im busy trying to make a living, paying my bills, the only free time i have is to sleep, i cant march on washington, what can we do/? this is not about saveing mony to go fishing, or buying a kayak, or rideing a bike to go fishing or car pooling to go to the lake, its about getting a fair wage to match all the price increases we need to live, neverless go fishing.come on theres got to be someone smart enough out there to solve this problem, what do we do, either that or write your congress man and tell him to tell the powers to be, TO KISS US when there done with us
