I was looking at this when Father's day came up this year and I received a Creek Company tube instead. Not a bad tube except for me the chair back does not hold me and folds over. So back to this ... VOmodular 6T

I had one. I recommend using some wider straps. You sit high on the water and don't have to worry about punctures. Lightweight frame and good storage. Didn't have any problems with the wind. Sold it to get a kayak but still looking for a better platform.

I had the 6 footer and had no complaints about it. Several types of ram mounts will fit the frame to mount graphs and other items. I sold mine to a fellow member named fishbonz. He posts a lot on the crappie forum. We both upgraded to 2 man boats but I never had any issues with mine. It was sold by Cabelas at the time and I ordered it from them.
I mounted and zip tied a rectangular milk crate on the back. I had a berkely 3 rod holder mounted to the crate. 6 plano 3700s fit in the milk crate perfectly. That provides tons of tackle storage.

$500? Not sure I'd take that over my pond prowler by any means... seems about as difficult to manage with half the capacity for people and gear, and less mobility options

I was looking at this when Father's day came up this year and I received a Creek Company tube instead. Not a bad tube except for me the chair back does not hold me and folds over. So back to this ... VOmodular 6T I use a second extra/optional inflatable seat bottom in the seat back position as well as at the seat bottom instead of the foam seat on the CC. Works for me, when used together with a thin foam seat bottom to keep me from sliding forward. I haven't tried the Ventures, but have used the old similar Hobie versions which are no longer made. The solid seat on the Hobies was not as comfortable as the above inflatable seat on the CC, because of my back issues. Heavy boat weight is a negative factor for me because of the remote launch points I use. Hope this helps. PC

Thanks guys. I have a two man boat (Twin Troller X10 in Texas), I need a rig for New Mexico trout fishing in lakes. Something light and easy to load. I have a Creek Company ODC 420 L now, and that is too cold for me to float around in (sitting in the water) plus the seat back does not hold me, I end up staring at the sky. I am going to sell that and get something light weight for just lonesome me to fish out of, sitting up high is the ticket and a trolling motor option is a good thing too.

VOmodular 6T I just had to chime in after reading some of the opinions.I was the guy that bought KD`s and I have to say I had a blast with it until I decided to get a Bass Raider two man boat..The new ones have a frame upgrade so that it can use wheels now to transport it.The whewels are sold seperatly. It is very easy for one person to handle.

I weigh about 180# and ODC 420L holds me at least 3" above water using the optional inflatable bladders and a foam seat topper cut from an old vinyl coated foam pool float. The inflatable bladder bottom used in both seat back and bottom raises the level compared to foam which absorbs some small amount of water. A thicker bottom inflatable bladder in the seat back might also help with seat back folding over. I have also found that 3 of the foam bottoms can be put into seat bottom instead of 2 and that raises me at least 3" above water level as well. I rigged a foot bar which keeps me warmer with my feet and hindquarters both out of water. I can easily walk with the 8# ODCL 2 miles with all fishing equipment, using the backstaps to a remote launch. There are also some bigger inflatable tubes that might hold big guys above water like the big horn, cumberland or super fat cat. Examples: http://www.cabelas.com/category/Float-Tubes/104335380.uts The Ventures are not lightweight compared to inflatables weighing more than 2X the heaviest inflatable tube. An inflatable toon or open bottom raft will hold more weight such as a motor/battery high above water with good comfort at weights comparable to the ventures. http://www.cabelas.com/product/NFO-Assault-Frameless-Pontoon-Boat/1311430.utsHope this helps. I am 6'3" and 250# I wish I was lighter. The VOModular 6T weight is okay I carry my canoe around at 80#, so 67# is okay. I think I prefer rowing to kicking, I seem to be uncoordinated with flippers and in wind I flat wear my legs out get cramps, my arms are good to row for a long time. Thanks for the info I will tell the person I sell it to, but I think my Son-in-law wants the tube, he has zero problems with it, he is 5'11" and 170#.

Those are very nice boats. What state are you fishing in? Don`t you have to register them when you put a troll motor on them?

I fish in Texas and yes they have to be registered. I know numerous other States do not require Boats under 8' in length to be registered. The videos and photo's on the web sites were taken in Canada. Both the GoFroggin and Frog Boat Facebook pages have more pictures if you want to check them out. Lancaster is not far from me in Granbury. PM if you want to meet to fish any time. I have a few productive catching locations.

Thanks to all responses. I finally got time off during a time when the wind isn't howling first of all I consider myself lucky given the reputation of Benbrook. It will test your patience and your will and want to on Crapie/Sacalait it can be rewarding.
