Similar doesn't get it. Storm's original is similar, but it runs true right out of the box. You never knew where an old Wart was going to go. Brad's Wiggler is supposed to be made from the old pre Rapala molds. Tackle Warehouse has them.

Bingo! A person of knowledge...that sound I'm hearing is all of the flushes of Ks going down.

You have got to be kidding me. I am going to go through my old lures box. I think I have a couple of those some where.

I'm trying to get a mental picture of someone who's pride and joy is a wall full of "collectible" fishing lures. The guy in my mental image is a pitiful, lonely guy with a couple of warehouses full of money. Doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me. Anyone want to come over and see my collection of used socks?

So because someone collects fishing lures...you just assume they are pitiful and lonely? That's quite an asinine statement considering there are a good number of people on this forum that do collect them in some form or fashion, and I'd be willing to bet that they are "proud" of them. You should educate yourself, because old lures are "collectible" ...hence the ridiculous price of this one...and a simple ebay search would prove that many times over. It doesn't have to make sense to you because at the end of the day...it has nothing to do with you. And the fact that you compared it to used socks....well...pathetic is the only word that comes to my "mental image". Have some respect

Just like anything else, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for them. I would like to have a collection for my office. Chances are I won't spend that much though smile

I have some pre Rapala ones and used them for years. This one here is so clsoe to the original you will have a hard time telling the difference. I have a bunch of these as well.

You collect used socks? That is WAY pitiful........

You don't know anything about the guy that collects lures. How can you make the assumption that he is pitiful and lonely?

Used socks...LOL hopefully you at least washed them for your collection.

I collect lures. When I see someone's lost lure in a bush, dock, tree, I have to collect it. Lol. My collection is mostly free. Save for the clean up and hook replacement. Haha. I'm not sick and lonely. I actually think it's funny!!! I sell collectible electronics stuff and see this reaction everyday. Some folks just don't get it. Some can't live without it. Lol.
I just sold an Italian car audio amplifier to a Vietmamese dude in Houston that was only interested if it had never been mounted. Much less powered. He wants it just to display in his office. That's even weirder than a fishing lure. Lol.

I have a hand full of the real ones left and rarely throw them except in a tournament! I have had these for many years! They do not even make the paint schemes anymore! About as hard to come by as series 8,000 big o's!

Pick a pattern for me to paint, I have 2 bodies coming in today. I have one already decided on, not real sure what to do with the other one.

Hey, sorry guys. Sometimes I forget that I live in my own little world with my own little limits. More power to anyone who can and will pay mega-bucks for collectibles. You have shamed me to the point where I'm taking my sock collection down and hiding them in the closet.
