I've heard a few different opinions on this. Regardless of lake size. Which are the best lake(s) for getting a shot numbers of big bass 8lbs and up?

Lake Fork by a long shot.
Looks like Toledo Bend is one of the hottest lakes at the moment.

Lake with the most 8+, Toledo Bend. You may not can catch them but they are there. You can put 6 lake forks inside Toledo bend.

I'll put Falcon against any lake in Texas, we just have to have more than 10 people fishing her on a weekend:)

I picked Fork, in part, because of it's size and the slot. The Elite Series went to Toledo a week before Fork last year, and they landed WAY MORE 8 lb+ fish at Fork. The number of pros was half at Fork what it was at Toledo. I'll stand by my statement that Fork is your best chance, but it has a ton of pressure and like any lake, you will not catch one that size every trip out.

hey Troy, glad to see you are doing the tour next year. I will see you out there as I'm coangling again. don't you think Texoma has treated you pretty good for 8+ pounders? It was Falcon by a long ways through 2012. I caught 5+ 8-9 pounders 2 consecutive days. I would still put several lakes against Fork for Sharelunker 13 pounders (possibly even 10+ pounders) like Lake Austin, Ivie, and Falcon. However, for 7-8 pounders I think Fork has most lakes beat. If I fish Fork hard for 2-3 days any time of the year I almost always end up with a 7-8 pounder, often a couple of them. There are a bunch of those 22.5-24" fish in the lake. Those are legit 7-8 pounders weighed on Cul-m-Rite, there are many 8.5-9 pounders that get exaggerated to 10. Just look at the Fork tournament results how many 7-9 pound overs are caught, but never many 10 pounders. You can figure in those tournaments for every over caught there were 3-5+ 23-23.99" fish caught.

Hate to say this bit I've fished for years on most o the lakes mentioned and it i don't get a 8+ over 2-3 day weekend at Ivie it's been a bad weekend
I know it's not a big numbers lake but I have enough time and confidence on it that that's my good/bad trip medium level

Ivie. Two eights caught within 15 minutes one morning back in 2011!

Falcon in 2011 9 casts 5 fish 44 lbs. Those were the crazy days where all you had to do is show up and you would catch fish.

Rob,
Texoma treated me very well! That is an incredible lake. I drool at the stripers caught there. My dad filmed a TV show there and it should air in the next couple months on Angling Edge.
You've had some great success on Falcon! Lake Austin and Fork seem to be favorites.
I won't be on the FLW next year. They printed that a little premature. I don't have the sponsor support (yet) to make that happen. Fixin to get some Bass Champs action next year. And a little TTT.
Good luck on the Co side!

Legend, that's must have been awesome! I haven't caught back to back 8's like that before. I've seen Ivie on the Bass Champs TV show. I watch that show a lot.
