I do not think anyone has caught them. The problem is not you, it's the weather. It looks like Tuesday might be good. What is needed is an overcast day with wind 5-10 mph. No one I have heard from has been catching them. If I can get free I may go Tuesday. If so I will send you a PM.

That works for me. Appreciate the input and hopefully we can both get free to meet up.

I was there this morning, 1 bite 0 fish. Been there 5 days sense stocking. If I had not seen the stocking truck myself, I would not believe any trout were stocked.

I am hitting Mansfield release tomorrow. im am bringing my kayak just in case then trying for other fish in the local creeks. I tried Ft Worth couple of weeks ago 50 people there over hour period I noticed only 4 fish caught. I didn't ask but it looked like some type of power bait then dipped into a liquid bottle

I've been meaning to get to Hurst soon, but haven't made it out yet.
When fishing for trout do you leave the bait on the bottom similar to catfishing? I got a few jars of various colored power bait to use and a small crappie rod w/ trout hooks.

For the most part when I was trout fishing I'd fish on the bottom with a Carolina style rig. Every once in awhile they wouldn't hit on the bottom and we'd switch to a cork. I remember one time at the rangers ball park we threw everything we had and didn't catch anything. So then my dad tried tying a twig to the line because we were out of corks and sure enough caught one with his twig cork, so my little brother and I both put twig corks on and started catching them too. We mostly used corn, cheese flavored marsh mellows, salmon eggs (rarely worked for us), and small inline spinner rooster tails. Not sure if the tactics still work because this was what we did in the mid 90's when they first started stocking trout in dfw

Correction, when we first heard about them stocking trout, I don't know when they started.

Do y'all have a ton of birds on your release ponds? I went to the pond nearest me and it's covered up with sea gulls and water turkeys and all sort of diving fish eating birds...they've seem to benefit the most so far from the trout release in Mesquite.

they released some in Mansfield. they were hitting on silver spoons, the bad part was the bank was covered with people only 20 people on small bank but some people were literally elbowing their way into a spot they wanted. I caught one 10 inch but it was too crowded for me.

I've fished this pond a few times last year when they stocked the catfish with little luck, I went last week to try my luck for the rainbows with no luck. Even though it's a small pond which area would be best bet to get my nephews on some fish. The big open side, the concrete deck, the bench at the front or the far side? We've used corn and mice tails.

We've used corn and mice tails. The bank area on your left as you stand on the pier is good. Try a better bait. Corn will work only when they are really biting well. Berkeley Trout Power Bait in yellow, chartreuse or rainbow colors works well. Use a small hook fished 12 inches below a 1/4 ounce sinker. The sinker will lay on the bottom and the bait will float up if the hook is small. They are mostly gone by now, so you will have to wait. The next stocking is December 23 about 1:00 PM. Early in the morning the day after stocking is best.
