Humminbird has just announced a new software upgrade to enhance the features increase the performance of ONIX Series. This is huge update and requires special instructions to perform. Update will require approximately 30 minutes to update so it is recommended to be done on the boat with power supply being charged.

Got the email last night. Was waiting to see your post before I did anything.

I having trouble with the update. I have a new Onix and I think I followed the instructions explicitly but, the unit does not even acknowledge that I have inserted the SDHC card. However it does not acknowledge that I have inserted my Lakemaster card either.

The download to the card went as expected. I even re-formatted and downloaded again. It simply does nothing when I insert the card. Talk to service and they suggested the re-format and emailed me instructions that are simple enough, but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

You are going to the Files Widget on bottom of the home screen to install the update?

Yes, I have tried putting the card in both before and after opening the files widget. Just no response.

Doug's link is apparently the right instructions, not the ones that pop up when you go to downloads for your equipment, though those instructions do have the same thing in FAQ link. Basically it say you have to download the files that zipped, unzip them and then load them onto the SD card.

I've done all that, but the unit still does not recognize my SD card. I hate to send a new $3,000 piece of equipment back, but I guess that is what I will need to do. Customer service is apparently closed on Fri afternoon, so I can't get instructions.

Well, I am a little embarrassed. Customer Service finally gave up on me and sent a card. It loaded perfectly. I have no clue what I was doing wrong. But I am up and running with new software.

Can't beat the customer service....

Installed the software and my Onix is speedy!

I'm sure it's not related but right after installing the software my 360� crapped out. There's power going to it but it's DEAD!

Did you update the 360 also? If so, restore defaults. My GPS and CHIRP were freaking out after the 2.0 update and restoring defaults got it going.

The 360� was updated. I've reset to defaults and still not working.
