Frustrating knots while standing in the river.....at times you think "What the heck am I doing out here with this tiny line, tiny hooks and no light to see, wind blowing knots worse, strike indicators and multiple flies tangled 100 times over.....almost ready to chunk it in the river and go home!" Then you get to work Monday and wish you could be standing in the river with your line knotted up again.

Knots are not my issue. Setting the hook to a phantom fish and having it stuck in a tree behind you is far worse. My wife swears I untangle lines from trees in my sleep.

You find a wind knot or two or three in your tippet now you have to stop and tie on another tippet and your fly.

I'm kind of clumsy. Every so often I make a kind of spastic back-cast and my tippet spin-wraps around the end of my rod. Lord help me if I'm running a couple of droppers when that happens. For that reason alone I've taken to just tying the dropper to the bend of the hook of the first fly rather than making a dropper tag from a triple surgeon's knot. It makes a little less horrendous mess when I goof up.
I can tie a double surgeon's with an extra twist and a double davy knot pretty effectively. Otherwise, fuggedaboudit.

I always like it when I wade out to that PERFECT spot, then all of a sudden my back cast gets hung in a tree and I have to walk back to the bank to attempt to untangle the fly.

I know. They like to act like they're just standing in one place all the time, waving in the wind, when really they're eeaasing over to where your backcast is!

You can imagine what a trout's video must look like of what you described. Oh, and I normally fish only one fly at a time.

I think half the time the trout can't bite my fly cause they are laughing so hard and can't see through the tears of laughter.
