hi

helpsign

my main target are the red fish , but i would like black drum too , but i have no experince in the jetties, any tip or advice (RIG, BAIT , BEST TIME FOR RED FISH ) is welcome thank you , my reel is a shimano sonoma 4000FD WITH 14# POUNDS LINE AND A ROD MEDIUM TO HEAVY ACTION helpsign

everything you have is good. You may want some heavier line incase you hook into a bull redfish or black drum. For redfish use cut mullet on the bottom. For black drum use cracked crab,fresh shrimp, or dead shad. on the bottom. You will get hung up at the jetties so bring extra tackle. When reeling in baits reel as fast as you can to try not to get hung up. Use an 6/0 hook atleast. Also try to get a long rod atleast 10' if not taller. Cast as far as you can off the jetty. Go down as far as possible.

SPI fishing is good with clear water today. Pompanos were caught on the beach side the past few days using pompano rigs tipped with shrimp. There are lots of whiting too. Occasional bull reds were caught on the channel side using cut mullet.

my catch at the jetties of spi ,,, no red but it was very fun and i will try again for the red and the black drum
i catch 2 big waiting and a sand trout too ...
