I think I've seen it all now... I guess if you're going to water ski on December 4th, a power plant, hot water lake is the place to do it. Water temps were 64-84 and air temp about 65 or so. Went to Brandy Branch for my first time, caught 5 bass, had a great day! But when I saw this, I had to post it. He did have on a wet suit and was on hydrofoil ski chair, but still skiing on Dec 4 just doesn't sound right.

Some hardcore skiers. At least they are enjoying being in the outdoors!

The water might feel good but getting out would be terrible

I have been guilty of this, we also skied on Lake O The Pines starting in March, all it took was a sunny day and we were there. A good farmer john wet suit and we were good. Of course this was 30 years ago.

Gotta watch your stuff at Brandy Branch. Really is a meth head hangout. Been there a few times and saw where peoples windows have been knocked out.

Back in the day, Ma and Pa, along with a few other crazies would ski on Austin on Jan 1. Was the tradition.

Trick, barefoot, slalom, jump, pyramids.

Crazy folks out there! This was probably 15 years ago or so, new years day we were out on Nocona in our sail boat just crusing around. We were the only ones on the lake when out of no where we see some kind of ski boat doing the same thing. Without ever stopping the boat, this dude in blue jeans, and a leather jacket starts off the swim deck and they feed the rope out till he's all the way out. They skied all the way around the lake probably 2 or 3 times. He'd pull him self up to the back of the boat and let it all back out again, probably one of the best slalom skiers I've ever seen. When he was finally finished he just pulled himself right up to the back of the boat and sat down and climbed in. hammer

You are correct grandpa, I don't even lock my truck when we go there. I keep a 14 year old one around just to take to the lake. I have had the stern tie downs stolen there. Back before it got bad it was a great night lake but is way to dangerous now. What a shame.
