If you haven't seen Cabelas has the Gen 2 Lowarance HDS 8 on advertised at $899 ($800 off retail)

I try to avoid electronics on ebay. I've had issues with convincing manufacturers (not Lowrance specifically) that the user I bought it from was an authorized dealer. And if you can't convince the manufacturer that you got it from an authorized dealer, then you have no warranty. I try to stick with TW or the direct websites of other authorized retailers for large purchases like electronics.

Yes, they had it listed in 2 places in ad. Back page was 449, inside was 399. You did good. I thought about picking up another 8 so I will have 3 I don't know how to use but with all the lowrance deals right now they must be coming out with some new chit.

I heard in 2015, the gen 3 were all having CHIRP. I might hold out for a HDS-9 touch till the Gen 3 come out.
