Anyone have any luck today? I was at the Denton site for about 3 hours and nobody caught a trout. I did manage a small crappie on a Mepps spinner though to avoid the skunk.

They were not biting at Hurst Chisholm park neither.

went to Mesquite, ~20 people, only saw a young couple got one during 4 hours. Ducks were the big winners today.

They were not biting at Central Park either.

Too bad they stocked on Thanksgiving eve. I am sure they were biting this morning early, but I was busy cooking my family's Thanksgiving meal.

Was out early this morning and the trout weren't biting...almost as if it wasn't ever stocked. Saw 20 people come and go. Didn't see a single fish caught in Denton.

I have a contact with the Hatchery Supervisor at TFFC. I need to call him and ask. The rumor from the channel catfish stockings is that someone or somebody in the power structure now wants the catfish fed before stocking. They do not want them caught out so quickly. I've always been under the impression that if the fish, any fish were fed right before stocking other than a day or so away, they would get sick in the transport tank, regurgitate and cause many to die off before being stocked. Trout are more delicate than catfish so I would not think they could feed them close to transport time. All I know is that starting with the catfish stockings my buddy and I are no longer getting the numbers we were getting going back to a year and a half ago. I keep logs. Normally with trout stockings, any trout stockings I can catch some trout, any time anywhere. Not even a strike on multiple lures and retrieval rates and I even tried a float n fly rig. The bait folks were not getting them either. I'll know better after trying a few places next week. The fact that hardly any were biting at any of the 4 places they stocked around DFW is interesting to say the least. Oh, the barometric pressure was good at Chisholm and only 2 cormorants on the pond. They only caught a few as well.

Thanks for the info, Chatterbait! It is interesting how they don't seem to be biting anywhere across the metroplex. Might have to knock the dust off the ole fly rod and give that a whirl.

I went to greenbriar park in ft worth last week only noticed 6 fish caught over 40 people there I was there 2 different times during the day. I got skunked

I went to Denton today and also the past 2 days. I caught total of 5 trout, 1 on Power bait, 3 on Johnson spoon, and 1 on Mepps spinner. I also caught 3 bass, and 2 other trout that escaped when I reeled them close to bank.

Been sidetracked fishing the Oklahoma Trout Stockings; hope to catch a few Trout once the stockings start in our area. Have been trying out a different recipe for cooking them other than pan frying like we normally do. Have had good success with a "Grilled Plank Trout Recipe". Give it a try this Season!

On the road today. Stopped in College Station for a quick stop. Took the 4 weight fly rod out and started casting for Trout. Struck out but did see others hook up while there... Till next time! Video Clip

Well the good news is that apparently the first stockings turned out to be a fluke. I've since gone to other stockings and have caught hundreds of trout. Chisholm park remains a mystery and I'm certain why.

My three sons and I went out this morning and each of us caught a limit including one real cool golden one! Firing up the smoker right after the ball game.
