7'11 Heavy halo twilight. Parabolic action is perfect for it, cuts down on fatigue you would get if you were throwing it with a flippin stick. They're only like $150 I think. And no, i'm not sponsored by them.

You will really like the Dobyns 795 Swimbait rod, it throws the A-Rig really well and easy.

What brand of rod ,length and action do you use ? the rod that I use and have a lot of confidence in is the 7'9" Veritas Schooling Rig rod by Abu Garcia. For me I can use it for any rig configuration I want. With its extended handle I'm able to make longs casts with ease. This rod is also very lightweight and has a good backbone that loads up very well.

Shimano Crucial A-rig rod. I think it is 7ft 9 inches in length.
I only throw an A rig on 65# braid, nothing less since I fish Fork and you never know when a stump will reach out and grab it.

Okuma 7'11" MH guide select. It has a moderate action which I feel is important when you get a bite. It also has a 24" handle length, this makes casting a dream. I also helps with leverage when you set the book and fight the fish. The handle has a pistol grip butt and that also helps with cast control.

I use a 7'11 H Omen from 13 fishing. Lots of good ones out there for throwing a A-Rig. IMO

I just use a all-star MH worm rod with 65lb braid. It works well. Got 2 fish over 4 pounds on at the same time and the rod handled it just fine. Plus the rod only costs $40
