if you can be lucky enough and catch them on sale at wal mart, i bought some abu vendetta rods for like $30 reg $80 they were 2012 models end of last yr and seen a few spinning rods on sale to. just have to periodically check at wal mart. Hopefully they may put them on sale again in next few months and into early part of 2015.

I think it's more of a personal preference on what you think feels right. The Mojo and the Omen are very good rods for the money. Check out Anglers Pro Tackle on Rufe snow if you're in that area..

Thanks guys. Good to have some more choices to look at. Sounds like plenty of good quality rods at that price.

I found Abu Vendettas on sale at the Academy rod riot for $39.99 this year. Decided to get an Ugly Stik GX2 for $20 on sale instead of the Abu Vendetta. Put a Pflueger President on it, and I'm pretty happy.

That Vendetta close out at wmart sure was sweet. Haven't seen them for $30 since April, but have seen them recently for $70 at Super Walmarts in smaller towns

The Vendetta2 is $69.99-79.99 normal. the vendetta you all bought on sale was probably the (supposedly rather inferior) original vendetta not the revamped Vendeta Next Generation.

http://www.wired2fish.com/bass-vendetta/

It's a killer line and you will feel like you spent a lot more money on your rods than you did when you fish them. I honestly prefer them a lot to my Veritas rods which were slightly more spendy at the time of purchase, though now that the new veritas 2 rods are out, you can get those the same price. I love the 6'6" MH fast for drop shotting, and the 7' 6" med moderate winch for cranking, but otherwise the vendettas fill all of my general purpose rod needs so I just have a few of those in varying weight/action/lengths. I haven't tried anything else I like as much so I just keep buying them.

Also with $69.99 or more spent on a combo, rod, or rell, you get a sweet Abu Garcia hoodie for $10 shipping/handling so, that's pretty sweet too!

I will tell you from experience. You'll love the TFO 7ft mh spinning rod. AND it's about $99. So right at the price your looking for. I got mine at bass pro and use it for shakey heads and drop shot mostly, but I like throwing squarebills on it too.

+1 On TFO, solid Rod, good performance

Yep. Love em.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

I really like the BPS Extreme rods for around $100. I have a 2 piece medium light that I even use throwing spoons and plastics in the surf. Great rods for the price.

I throw a lot of light stuff with spinning gear. Love my 6'6" Shimano Compre worm/jig rod. $100. Very light, sensitive, IM-9 graphite.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

The rod that I use and have a lot of confidence in for that technique is the 7' medium Abu Garcia Veritas. This rod for me is very sensitive and lightweight perfect from 4ft to 40ft.
