I'm looking for input from owners of this Kayak. I really like it and it is my nr 1 choice on my list. If the weather holds up next weekend planning on renting it to try it out. Have read numerous reviews but would like to also here from any owners on this forum on likes or dislikes about this kayak. My plans would be mostly lakes (90 percent of the time) and possibly ponds and occasional river trip a couple of times a year.
tks BigAl

Great kayak for sure, would suggest a rudder or the 2015 model that is rudder ready, then is easy to add at any time.
Also suggest you try a Cuda 12, just a little shorter so makes it a little easier to turn, for smaller waters like river and ponds.
Both are a excellent choice, let me know if you have any questions, PM's are best, so it will ping my email

I love mine. Where are you located? I noticed on in the classifieds for $800. If I didn't already have 2 I would think about buying that one.

I live in SE Oklahoma. I've rented one and going this morning and tomorrow. I figure that will convince me in what direction I'm wanting to go. The Cuda 14 I've rented has a rudder which is a bonus so I can try it out. I've been looking at CL but no luck. New ones are discounted pretty good and fall within my budget with paddle and lifevest. Thanks for your help. BigAl

Where did you rent one at? My kin live in Moyers and Antlers, a cousin of mine was looking to get a couple of kayaks for his wife and his self.

I rented the one I'm using at Oklahoma city Kayak. 75 dollars for the weekend. If you purchase a kayak within 30 days it will go towards the purchase. Great way to see if the kayak is the one for you. Went yesterday for three hours and going again this morning. I'm reserving judgment until todays trip. I would say I'm a novice (generous term for me) and this may not be the one for me. Seem real tippy yesterday. We will see. I've bass fished for a long time (always from a boat) and fishing from one of these is a whole new learning experience (LOL). Big Al

I use mine in the low seating position because of the tippy feeling. I did try out my buddy's Big Rig and that thing is amazing! So much more stable than my Cudas, but they aren't as fast as the Cuda. Not a bad trade off for the stability. He wants to trade me for one of my Cudas and I am seriously considering it. If you can test paddle the Big Rig I would definatly do so. You will be amazed at the difference in the 2 boats. Good luck on your search for a yak!

Went out again yesterday. I knew it was going to be real windy and wouldn't to see how it went with the Cuda. Paddled good even into the wind but still a little tippy for me. I'm planning on renting the Big Rig if possible next weekend. I've kept the seat in the lowest setting the entire time based on all the reviews I've read. For someone a little more experienced this would be a great kayak but someone like me starting out I'm just not comfortable enough fishing out of it. I need the ability to sit a little higher. In contrast my friend who went with me yesterday has an ocean kayak. Don't know the model he stated it was about 14 years old. The ride was rock solid. Wider with higher gunnel. Thanks for the help. Big Al

The more kayaks you demo and can try out, the more you will understand how much of the "tippyness" is you and how much is the kayak. Good luck in your search!

Take Paloviks suggestion and try the Cuda 12. I have owned both and the 14 always felt tippy but the 12 was awesome stable feeling.
