for the first time in over nine months and was almost skunked.

Couldn't use the boat as my wife's back still is not ready for that but we did fish the slip for four hours.

As stated, I was skunked for the first three hours, which would not have been good had it stayed that way after such a long dry spell. But just before we left I caught a 12" white crappie and then fifteen minutes later an 18" black bass.

I think we left just about the time they were starting to bite.

We may try again tomorrow afternoon or Sunday afternoon. Can't stay too long each time right now but it is nice to get back on the water again, even if it is just at the slip.

It was great sitting the pontoon seat with two rods in the water! The two fish were just bonuses but I'm hoping to have more of a bonus my next trip.

And yes, the pontoon was parked in the slip but it has nice seats to sit in while fishing the slip. And I can dream I'm out on the lake. roflmao

Oh, I've not been quiet, even when I can't fish. I'm too opinionated for quiet. roflmao

But hopefully I will be able to report on the Park fishing barge and slips more and eventually Joe Pool lake itself again. banana

Thank you. I would like to take my wife somewhere where she can catch some trout. Cedar Hill Park was almost impossible last year and they dropped the number of stockings to one this year.

I don't know how long my wife will need to use the wheelchair. She can walk short distances around the house now but needs a wheelchair for anything more than 200 feet.

The doctor says she will get better but a stress fracture in a fused disk can take time to fully heal. And then she must regain her strength once it heals.

Thank you. It was a long dry spell and very frustrating for both us.

We are both on the road to recovery, I'm fine myself now for most things. I expect she will be able to ride in the pontoon by the first of the year, if not sooner.

She might need to use a wheelchair for distance for a few more months but eventually even that should go away.

So we are both happy, and even happier after spending time at the slip today. roflmao

If anyone deserves some time on the water, it's you and the miss's. You have seem to stay positive with all you have been dealt so hope the fishing gods shines a bright light on your time on the water.

Thanks. That is why we left yesterday just as the fish were starting to bite. It was hard to leave after catching that 12" white crappie but we were both tired.

Plus I expect some of them will be there this afternoon. So we are going out a little later in the afternoon as the bite started late yesterday, unless the rain comes in.

If it does we will try again Sunday afternoon.

And by next year we should be back in the boat. banana

Thanks. If I am able to be on the water, the fishing gods are shining on me, regardless of what I catch. roflmao

It's been harder on the wife, as this is the first time she has had to deal with so much pain and limitation of activities.

Unless you count putting up with me, which is a different kind of pain. roflmao
