Wish I could swing the extra scratch for that right now. My girlfriend would die of excitement. I was sad about my divorce this year until I met someone who loves fishing just as much as me and made a new best friend. Her birthday is 3 days before Christmas and mine is a month after, so I was thinking I'd treat us to some form of guided trip. Was considering a cheaper blue cat guide on hubbard or maybe a crappie trip... she is excited to learn to catch bass like me but she JUST started getting to fish since meeting me, and more than anything I just want to get her out and on good fish. She has fun catching bluegill or anything. She stuck it out with me last sunday in freezing temps while it was drizzling when we took the pond prowler out and up the creek at Joe Pool on the hunt for bass and crappie, and saved us from a near skunking with her first landed bass, a little 12"er. She was down to stay another 5 hours even though we were freezing to death, she's hooked! Her first bass was actually a solid 4lb chunk at Muenster lake but it came off a few feet from the boat as I was working us towards it through heavy timber and broke her heart. I told her now she's a real fisherman, she has one that got away!
I worry about a bass trip though as her skill set hasn't developed that much yet, though she is rapidly improving. This particular guide service seems VERY tempting to me as an aspiring angler who is trying to get started doing tournament fishing, but seems a bit intimidating for a novice like her. I notice it also includes "your favorite rod and reel" in the things to bring description... I'm not used to having to provide my own equipment at those sort of prices, but I've never done a largemouth guided trip before. Is this pretty common? Do you let us know what type of fishing we will be doing so we bring a suitable rod? Do you provide the tackle, etc.
Please tell me more, even if it isn't the right guide trip type for her it sounds like something I would enjoy immensely but I want more details before I put it on my birthday wish list in front of a GoPro or Abu Garcia REVO Beast or something as my one big present lol

I just recommend to anglers who fish alot to bring there own rod and reel. But with beginers and people traveling I will always provide everything. I think this trip would be great for the both of you. let me know if you want to book a trip i would love to earn your business and help to put you guys on some good fish.

Skeeter,I didnt want to post on to the public but figured I would message you instead.I first off want to thank you and your wife for reaching out a hand to help someone up.I am wondering what would be considered in need.I am now a single father of a 19yr old son,on January 19th of this year we both seen my wife and his mother pass away at 43yrs old in our bed of a heart attack.I am starting to feel like I am losing him as well,we both tried everything we could until ems showed but it was to late since then it has taken a toll on us both.I work 6 days a week and he has a hard time even being home,we gave all of our christmas decorations away and I am in debt up to my neck with all my bills and my wife's medical and funeral still being paid.I know there is a lot he and I will have to over come, but I know we need to start spending more time together for each other.I am not asking for anything for us but if one of your half day trips fall through would you be willing or able to help us out mainly for him to just be able to get out of his daily routine and enjoy himself,if not I understand.Thank you both for what you are doing to help out someone in need.
I will not post this mans name as he would rather remain anonymous. But I can tell you that I am donating a full one day guide trip to this man and his 19 yr old son. If anyone wants info on this family please let me know and I will put yu in touch with him. I have PM'd him and he and his son will be coming to Fork on a full day guide trip.
This is what Christmas all about here. All of us on the TFF and family coming together.
