I need some advice on which lake and info on where and what to catch them on. The lake choices are Lewisville, Eagle Mountain or Ray Bob. I've never set out to go crappie fishing and have no idea where to start or what color jigs (or size for that matter).

I'm not looking for someone to expose some great secret, just want to take a friend fishing and catch 15-20 keepers. I'll be headed out Thursday mid morning.

Any help out there.....?

15-20 keepers is a pretty good day for most of us. You might think about hiring a guide for the best chance to put that many in the boat.

15 to 20 keep fish .....hmmmmm
not an easy thing depending on who what and where for sure
some of the area lakes have the fish moving into or already set up in a winter pattern right now
this could include several options for ketchn them
spider rigging with minnows maybe in open water ?
up a creek shallow somewhere
or maybe deep parked in brush on the bottom
I don't fish any of the lakes you mentioned
but to be sure a guide could possibly get you on the fish
thumb
Rockhopper or benny Dabney maybe ?
or cliff spindle
or fishinfarmer
they fish some of those lakes you mentioned

+1 for a guide, or you could try to walk a creek bank.

Lewisville and Eagle Mtn are both really low right now. Roberts is good and I've caught a good few off brush piles, but I think they have moved in shallower or up the creeks.

I haven't fished any of those lakes, in fact I haven't been able to fish this year.

I suggest you get in touch with Big Mike, from the Lewisville Fishing Barge, to get information on Lewisville. He often posts here in that thread.

Since he works there he might be able to provide you more up to date information on what is happening on that lake.
