Despite having documented our ill-fated Pecos River trip in three installments on our blog (Lone Star Chronicles), there were several aspects of our trip that didn't make it into those write-ups (I figured the trilogy was long enough). I've finally decided to publish those untold tales in a series we're calling the Pecos River Journal, and I just posted the first entry, a short story about our return to the lower Pecos in search of our kayaks and equipment almost 60 days after the flood. Although we'd always planned on going back to look for our things, one thing after another prevented it until August, shortly after Dan's cameras were found by bass fisherman on Lake Amisted. Armed with fresh GPS coordinates provided by the fishermen and a plan, sort of, to search a particular section of the river, Dan and I once again drove down to Comstock, this time to search for our lost belongings.

This is the story of that search: Pecos River Journal - The Search

Bert I have enjoyed your stories and pictures! Thank you for taking us on this adventure through your writing and pictures. Looking forward to the next part of the story and hoping you will find more of your equipment and kayaks one day!
