I've been off the water this week because of real windy conditions but we had some big ones the last couple weeks. Fished today with Charlie Robertson and Roy Garrison in freezing temps. Charlie caught this 11.71 BEAST on a 3 1/2" Nech Wilderness gold spoon and here's another good one plus they had several other smaller bass and lots of sand bass. Were fishing deeper spots 20' to 24 ' in places with a lot of small sand bass and bar fish with contour drops close. With these colder temps they should start grouping up better. The spoon was the best bite and just have to be patient with it because the larger bass are feeding on them two species in intervals and you might catch several of these in between largemouth bites but it can be very rewarding. There's also a lot of shad moving to the back of the larger creeks right now shallow and some larger bass are moving up also. With the surface temps dropping as much as it is with these long cold nights it will weaken or stun some of them. This will make easy prey for the bass. Don't underestimate the shallow bite in areas that have bait in this type weather. Swim jigs, and shallow shad color cranks bumped off the timber should get you some good reaction bites. If fishing plastics in these areas stay very tight to the wood and slooow down. Also pitching 3/8 or 1/2 oz. jigs tight on larger stumps that are on the creek channels should be pretty good . Without the high winds we've had all this week you will have more options shallow and deep. This report is good for the next several days then we will start warming up again. Good luck to you people fishing Fork this weekend and to the high school tourney teams on Sat. Bundle up and be safe out there! I also now have a new Facebook Fan Page which is Lake Fork Bass Fishing With Eddie Garrett.

Just saw Eddie at the store yesterday and we were talking about upcoming trips and the weather..and we both agreed that you sure could not catch a Giant Bass at the house. What a beautiful Fish Guys glad Eddie could put you on her.*** By the way I posted this eariler today on another topic involving Eddie "Glad you had a great time LoneStarHusker..Eddie is definitely one of my favorites on the lake. Most if not all of the time you see Eddie's name, Giant Bass are in the story. Congratulations Guys on not just 1 PB's but 2.."
