On Tuesday, one of our valued Mariner Sails customers picked up his new Slayer Propel 13 prior to leaving for a maiden voyage coastal fishing trip. He stopped at a San Antonio Double Tree for the evening. While parked in front of the hotel to check in (around 6pm) his locked truck was broken into and totally cleaned out. Included in the theft were a Propel Drive Unit and Slayer Seat. Also a pistol, clothing, PFD, and all of his fishing tackle and rods were taken.

Please pass the word of this theft to anyone you know or other forums in the San Antonio/Austin area. Maybe one of his fellow kayak fisherman will see or get word of these stolen items for sale and can help law enforcement catch the bad guys.

In some cultures, stealing is the National Sport! In the Caribbean, a battery-powered mini-grinder with a cut-off wheel is called a Puerto Rican Master Key! I have seen instances where guys work for hours on end to steal something worth far less than they could have bought with money earned by working less time.

Like pelican I really hate a thief.

They will go pawn the stuff and get only enough money for another evening of drugs. If they are ever caught they may get a little slap on the hand. Keep us posted and let us know if you get any of the equipment back. So sorry it happened. What a way to ruin a trip!

That's very unfortunate. We have had our own "experiences" with SA, and we no longer go there for that reason. It appears that no part of the city is immune to this activity, too.
