OP CatfishAddiction Extreme Angler C Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,763 Midlothian, TX	I'm going to try to do some bankin' this weekend and I want to get some opinions from the experienced guys about whether or not this snap will be beneficial or if it will shut them down. I'm going to go after channels and blues with punch and cut bait.

Our shallow water bite starts to slow down. If you are a trophy blue cat fisherman, these type fronts help tha water cool into tha 50's..which is when tha larger fish really start feeding heavy. Or are you saying that the front is good because it cools off the water so winter trophy season will start sooner? The last two times I've been fishing was the day after a relatively strong front and still had the north winds. Bite was slow and tentative both days and only managed small fish. I just didn't know whether to blame the front or my fishing skills. We tried shallow to deep, anchor to drifting. Maybe on fish per hour...

Those 1-2-3 Day fronts don't do much - an extended front that lowers water temp is helpful after the initial shock.

The area I was fishing Sunday was 2 ft or less. Had trouble getting bait, and only caught 4 channel cats. No blues. Not sure if it was the cooler water, lack of shad, or duck hunters in the area.
