I get into my hunting mode also and my kayak will sit idle for about 8 weeks. I store it with a cover on my back patio on saw horses. The cover keeps leaves, dust, birds whatever from getting into the kayak. Come January it will be out and about again depending on the weather.

Just one more cast!

Warping is the only think I'd worry about. I don't think cold is really a factor. Sometimes I am proactive enough to open the hatch to let it dry out (another recent post reminded me of that).

A kayak degrades during the winter if not on the water. So does the owner. smile

Winter, in Texas? Why you wanna worry about storing a kayak for 2 days?
