Today me and dad headed to Lake Fork with the intent to tear up some crappie. Well we didnt tear them up. In fact we didn't even launch the boat because I tore up the axle on my boat trailer. I won't bore y'all with the whole story but I will share the meat of it.
1) I thank God for keeping me and my dad safe. It could have been real ugly, had it not been for God's hedge of protection around us. Thank you God again for your mercy and grace.
2) My dad rolled up his sleeves and dug in. We tugged, twisted, and pulled on that dang trailer the whole day Dad felt just as bad as I did. He keeps offering to help with repairs, etc. he always been there to save the day just as he did when I was younger.
3) Bullhead a person couldn't ask for a better friend. See when I busted what I thought was only some bearings or even a hub, I called Bullhead for help. He stops what he is doing and picks up some parts and heads to Lake Fork. We then drove to the parts store in Sulphur Springs. By the way Bullhead lives in the DFW area. He bought parts and spent money on gas too. Paul my gratitude for your help to today can't even be put in words.
4) I called Crope1 and he was quick to answer his phone and offered to help. Thank you Ronnie!!!!
5) Last but not least. Slade, aka Forkfish. A couple of weeks ago I went on an electronics with Slade. So as I was sitting at the boat ramp with my trailer on a jack thinking of who could help on a Sunday at Lake Fok A thought occurred to me to call Slade. He answered immediately. I told him what I had going on and sure enough he knew someone that could help me. But he didn't stop there. He stopped fishing, trailered his boat, and headed to our location. While enroute to our location he calls his friend that can help me and lets him know my problem and gets everything setup for me as far as getting my trailer fixed. He then leads us to his friend's location. We stopped every couple of miles to pour water on the axle to cool it off a little cause im metal to metal big time. He was kind enough to use his bottled water in addition to the little I had and that Bullhead had. So we make it safely to our destination. Again Slade isn't done. He tells me to get my cooler. He then proceeds to chunk some slabs in my cooler. He said we are still going to make this trip worth while. In fact when it was all said and done he gave us his entire catch. Oh, he's not done yet. He then pulls out some jigs and gives us several of them and wouldn't take no for an answer. So as we get ready to leave he says," Call me when you're coming back down to fish next time and we can't meet up and fish together." He had his wife with him through all this and she was kind and patient. Now remember what I said earlier. I just met Slade a couple of weeks ago. He didn't treat me like a past customer, he treated me like a friend he's known his whole life! I am so grateful Slade. Thank you so much. I pray that so many people book you for electronics trips that you have to hire people to help you keep up with the demand.
TFF is an awesome place with many awesome people that are always willing to help. The aforementioned people are all CLASS ACTS! Again words can't express how thankful I am for each of you. May God bless you all abundantly!

Was that you at the 154 Ramp ?,
I came off the lake around 3 and there were two supervisors and one worker working on a axel. I was going to ask if ya'll needed any help, but looked like it was being supervised well. Sorry for the problem and they were biting.

Sorry for the problem and they were biting. That would be correct. That was me, my dad, and Bullhead. I know they were biting. When we were waiting on Bullhead, me and dad walked down and threw a line out under the bridge. A column over we saw guys catching a few.

I remember that truck. I saw your post. You got into them. I had the right idea but couldn't execute my plan. That's ok. We are alive and well and will be back down there again real soon.

Thanks for the great story. I need to make an electronics trip with fork fish. All I can say is, you won't be disappointed! Slade knows electronics. After my trip with him a couple of weeks ago my confidence increased big time. When the trip was over we dropped him off at the dock and went back out and found some more piles immediately.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden"... "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven" (Matthew 5:14,16). It is awesomely refreshing when you see this scripture in application. In the face of much worldly chaos and turmoil, discipleship is still in practice!! Thanks to all that gave of themselves and thank you for sharing SMP. By the way, the fact that so much assistance was available to you speaks a bit to your character(you're a neat guy bro-ski). Keep making memories with dad. You guys are building a legacy with each other.
