Sounds like your feel'in better. Man, don't rush it. It's gett'in cold outside. Take the winter off and relax/recoup.

Check yourself and see if lifestyle changes are needed to prevent 3rd heart issue. Your still awful young.

Out!

I'm 32 and had OHS May 2013. It was a solid 3 months before I was able to lift anything. I started lifting weights in January so 8 months for me before I was confident enough to do that. Of course I was back to normal life sooner than that but that gives you somewhat of an idea. I did go fishing in September 2013 and was able to do that just fine. Just got to take it easy. Your body heals quicker than you think but the initial healing process needs time. I was going to the chiropractor 12 weeks after my OHS. Message me if you have any other concerns or anything I might could add to help you along. Invest in a pillow and hope you never need to sneeze :p

I think If I had open heart surgery I would sure be consulting with my DR about when I could get back to fishing instead of asking the experts on here. Only your Dr has details on how the surgery went, how well you handled it, what kind of shape you are in and what would be a reasonable recovery time. Some of the people on here may know quite a bit about fishing but I sure would not be trusting their advice about my health or medical condition.

Good luck with your recover and I hope you are back on the water soon.

I had double by pass and a stent when I was 56. Each person is different. I was back to work and fishing in 3 months. Don't push it. Your body will let you know when it's time to get back into the swing. All I know is you will feel much better. You have a secound chance in life. Heed the warning and take care of your self. Believe me it's worth it.

I don't think I'd be looking for medical advice ( especially heart disease advice) from a bunch of rednecks on the TFF, just saying.

NO RUSH! You have MANY years to get back into and enjoy the sport. Listen to your cardiologist/family....to your own mind.
Your young yet and sounds like gone thru H-$-L-L! Body may take time to heal.
It can be a fun, relaxing and rewarding sport....just don't jump right into it.
Tickled your still here pardner...enjoy....don't get into a hurry.
I have a neighbor next door, two open heart bypass operations/5 stints/..he's 84 I believe, retired truck driver. Scared the dickens out of me this last summer when he really pushed himself too hard. Saw him turn white literally, popping Nitro tablets like they were M&M's!
Got him off the ramp and to his cardiologist. He's ok, but he pushed it and didn't listen... HE DOES NOW!
Great guy, good neighbor and fisherman. You don't want to let your family or yourself down and lose not one experience!
Hope to see you on the lakes....
God Bless.....take it easy..

I had a heart attack last Nov 12th. Almost one year ago. I was 40 years old and way too young for a heart attack. They put in one stent and I feel great. I was putting a ton of miles on my body before the heart attack. I was smoking over two packs a day and living rough. The day I had my heart blow up I quit smoking. Scared the poo out of me. I will say I was back to work in six days. If I had open heart surgery I think I would wait at least a month.

That's just 3 months away. I think I'd delay another month or two, were it I. However, you should follow your surgeon's/cardiologist's advice - not mine. Glad your surgery was successful, and hope you continue to recover quickly.
