For people that really have caught big hybrid before, you can tell that is a big fish. Look at his hand in the fishes mouth. Old Indian saying goes "type too much, fish too little."

Well, have been trying to stay out of this, but over last several days I have had numerous texts, PMs, and calls about this post. Ive been fishing Benbrook for a lot of years, and guided it up until this april. Lots of good fish have been caught, by me and by the Benbrook regulars. ive never claimed to be the best at all, and actually have stated several times that there are regulars that are a lot better than me. In fact, I will say ( without butt hurting anyone) Mike Acosta is the best ive ever seen on Benbrook. Now, that being said ( fixing to upset some people) That is highly unlikely a 12.95 lb hybrid. Its a good fish no doubt. Sorry Larry, just gotta be honest. Larry, ive met you and talked to you several times at the marina. Don't wanna cause problems with you, but have to be honest. The fish in question is certainly worth bragging about, and I would everyday from here on out. at best, its a 10 lber, which is worth bragging rights at any lake. Now, that ive said this, im sure it looks like im jealous. Im not at all. just stating what I feel, also, it has been stated that someone has caught 6 fish over the record in the last 3 years... again (fixing to upset some people) I have to and will call BS on that. Nope, was not there and didn't see them, but without a doubt if you had 6 people that busted a lake record, atleast one if not all would wanna claim it. My customers would along with anyone else. Now, with all that being said... Im sure im the A$$, but that's just the way it is. and will be from here on out. now, for the ones that called piepuncher out about his 10 lbers... he has baoted lots of them, so hopefully he will post pics shortly. Just for grins, the hybrid far right of the photo was 27" length, 19" girth, and only weighed 9.2 lbs, so take that in consideration

I thought this forum was for talking fishing. Not bashing someones character. First I would like to say way to go Larry. Heckuva nice hybrid and I'm SURE it is over 12 Now I'd like to state the obvious - Dugan you are an A$$ Why do you feel that you had to post on this topic and attack Big Ds credibility? I call BS on you not being jealous. Big D is the best fisherman ever to hit Benbrook bar none. I don't want to hide behind my old username CLAY YADON REEL DEAL GUIDE SERVICE LAKE WHITNEY

All he has to do is claim a record, or even take a picture next time he catches a record. I mean he's done it 6 times already so it shouldn't take long. One day at the ramp he was bragging about breaking the record - how he had caught a 15lber and 14lber on the same evening. Now I'm not saying it was bs but he never produced a fish, a picture or the record he said he was going to submit...

Here's the drama Dan was talking about, lol!hence the reason some guides don't post on here anymore. I don't know about all of you, but I go fish for fun and hopefully put some meat in the freezer, and if I happen to snag a huge, possible record breaker,I'm not gonna be worried about finding some certified scales, I'm gonna take a pic and that fish is getting cut up with all the rest.

If you caught a record fish on any lake, would you have a certified. Anyone would and let me tell you why. When I lived in Oklahoma, I was fishing Fugua Lake and was at the ramp when a man brought in a 13.6# Bass his son caught on a spinner bait. He had it certified as a lake record at that time. He was contacted by tackle people and when all was said and done he received over $300 in gifts. That was in 1980 something. Folks if you think you have a lake record, get it certified and post it on here. Tell what kind of tackle you were using and I promise you will be rewarded, also it will stop any BS.
