Thanks for all of the PMs guys. Sorry if my response was short. I can't elaborate on anything.

Majority of the anglers who participate on this forum are from the DFW area. Take a look at www.austinkayakfishing.com to get an idea of what some of the guys in the Austin and surrounding areas have to offer. Personally, I think Austin is the hotbed for kayak bass fishing in Texas, if not the nation. Houston has some great anglers also, but they are spread out and not very well organized. There is a small grass roots following there, but the tournaments are still very small in terms of numbers of anglers....about 10. The problem is that they are really spread out, as are the lakes.

Maybe, but if I recall, an Austin guy won the KATS tournament on Ray Roberts.

Bobby L is a great angler! I watched a couple of the ATX ringers bring in only a couple fish that day as well.... Only a handful of guys from north Texas showed up to the ray bob tournament id say the Austin guys outnumbered the north guys 3-1.

^^^ just like at the TOC this weekend.... Austin will send 10 guys to NTX 5.

There are some really good sticks that don't fish any or many tournaments for a lot of different reasons.

Very true !!!And Todd is correct, also I have had the pleasure of fishing with some great sticks that do very few or no tournaments lots more of them that I would love to fish with and I would put them up against anyone.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
