For sure. Nobody has the right to use water that they pay for each month. Lake Fork was built and payed for by people that own bass boats. Anyone using our water is a thief! That whole electricity thing should be banned also. Another thing that bothers me is when I pull into a gas station and the other cars don't move out of my way. I HAVE A BOAT! It's my gas pump, not theirs.

Perhaps I should clarify so more of you understand...

Turfgrass does not need to be watered multiple times each week in order to keep it green and healthy. Once it is established, it needs less than 1" of water per week DURING THE GROWING SEASON. In fall and winter months, it needs water about once per month, if that. I haven't watered my yard in 14 months, and it is still as green as anyone else's in my neighborhood. Infrequent, deep watering will promote deeper root growth, and once you have deeper roots, the Turfgrass will need less irrigation. I have seen office buildings in Dallas that water their grass 5 times per week, and if you were to dig up that grass, the roots would not be deeper than 2", which makes them need more irrigation.
If you feel that you should water your yard as much as you want, then don't start bitching when your lake is empty, because it is your fault.

So California won't let farmers grow crops by pulling water because of some small endangered fish. Let's put some noninvasive dangered species in all the good fishing lakes so dwu can't touch the water anymore! We have enough crazy California liberal types in Austin that would pickett for days while we all enjoy fishing lakes like fork. If we have to live with hammer and sickle communists might as well put them to some good use since they do not want to have liberty and freedom. Don't think many actually create anything but regulations, taxes, and a drain on hard working people. That way my hard work to still allows me to enjoy great fishing. Plus I am lucky to get a chance to hire a fork guide few times a year to take clients fishing so I want fork to be the best lake in the country for years to come. There can't be many lakes that have created as many livelihoods as fork for as long as fork has, not just guides but everything out there. Don't get offended just my opinion and sarcasm since I am free to say what i want right!

IMO, remember where you LIVE. This is Texas, not the land of turf grasses, i.e, Bermuda/St. Augustine .....this IS the land of prairie grasses and those that require little water.
You want to be 'environmentally friendly? Plant for the climate you live in.
That will use MUCH less water.
Businesses especially should be made to do this.

Water is too cheap. That is the only problem, along with no rain north of I20.

Looks like they really increased the pumping. About 1.5" in the last 24 hours.

You do realize the average depth of lake fork at full pool is 20 feet. It doesn't compare directly to highland lakes.

I know the lakes in south and west Texas are lower and hope we all get a lot of rain soon. No need to argue over who has it worse.
