What's your go to color for a jig in stained water that's 55-60 degrees?

Try a black jig/ blue trailer. Rattles and a little sparkle wouldn't hurt either. Works great in stained water, overcast days and at night.

Fished with a jig maker recently. He said, and I heard it before from Denny Brauer, that you really only need two jig colors: black and blue for stained water and watermelon/green pumpkin for clear water.

Black and blue or black and yellow are my go to colors usually.

Most lakes for me it's black/blue or brown/green/orange
There's a couple of lakes (with clear water) I go where a white/blue/a few strands of chartreuse jig can be really good.

Denny probably made that statement before peanut butter n jelly was out. I would add that color to the list.

+1

I would also throw some variation of green pumpkin/orange or green pumpkin/purple.

Black and Blue anytime the water is 55 or under. I would be willing to try the PB&J if the Black and Blue wasn't getting bit.
