I don't see any posts. Just got my Torqueedo motor back from epair and I'm thinking about going back up to Texoma and see if that lake is done dishing out skunks.

we caught too many overs yesterday. two of us came home with 4 around 29"

We threw back about 6 or 7 more that were over too.

Look on transitions near shore line where it goes from 15 to 30 feet fast.
Sassy shad with spinner spoon on head.

We were by islands and then by Preston point trying to find smaller ones.

Pk, he was west of the Willis (377) bridge. There is a usable ramp right there at Juniper West.

We saw fish around the islands yesterday, however, the front blowing in had them not very hungry. There was some surface feeding early then they moved to the humps in open water. Fish were there, just not very interested in my offerings. Bites were few and far between. Most of our bites were deep on slabs, which had my ipilot sweating trying to keep us spotlocked in that wind..lol

Yep, on shad between islands and 377 bridge. Also picked up some in Big Mineral and then right out the mouth of big mineral (avoid shallow area) headed east and south of island right outside Big Mineral. Boat shows been between Big Mineral and 377 bridge, don't know if they were catching. Bizarre, marking tons of fish and pick up one here, one there.

Last week took home 20 one day (wife and I), 3 next day (lost my anchor, shackle came undone to chain), 6 day after that.

Back at it next 2 days if I can get compartment doors fixed up.

there are several ramps on Preston. We usually use Lighthouse. There is another ramp on the end of the point but I am not sure if its public or not. Preston Recreation area I think, does anyone know if this park on the end of Preston is open to public?

Some of the hawgs came from the islands across from highport and east. Same situation. On the end of the eastern most island (north east side) is a ridgeline that drops from 25 to 35 then flat and another drop out to channel.
We weren't getting constant hits but about every 15 to 30 minutes something would destroy snap swivels and straighten hooks, around 10 came in the boat all stripers in the 27 to 30" size. stay on the ridgeline. Same thing at Preston.
I will get the number 4 snap swivels for salt water 100# for next trip.
I use suffix 80# 832 braid so I usually break rigs not line.

Smallest fish of the day! laugh

Caught these in about 4 hours last Monday with cut shad, they were hanging around in 25'-30' just off the sandy points east of Willis bridge

I caught these a few days ago while fishing for crappie. 8' deep brush pile on a point with a deep drop on 2 sides ...1/8th oz crappie jig. Caught 6 overs on 6 consecutive pitch ...pitching the jig out past the brush and letting it come back and THUMP!!! Went to another brush pile and caught 2 more stripers loco ...kept these 2 overs. Fish are a lot heathier than a month or two ago

Juniper West ramp is still usable ...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has stripers destroying gear.
I have an entire box full of bent Bomber treble hooks. I've started using Number 7 swivels and have not had them bust the swivel. I also went to a 50 LB test flourocarbon leader that seems to hold up well to their sharp gill plates.

I can launch my small boat there. I like fishing above 377. The lake is narrow and my toy boat can cover the area. I'll have to be careful from here on out, as we are in the part of the year where we will alternate between north and south high wind fronts. My little pontoon wont sink on me but the water is getting too chilly to get wet.
