I took my boat out last Friday and noticed a popping noise when trimming the motor down while the boat was in motion. I stopped and tried to figure out what it was but it only makes the noise when the boat is in motion. Any ideas what this could be? I don't recall hitting anything within the last few trips and this is the first time I've noticed it.

You probably just need to add a dab of grease to the 2 posts that contact the motor. Sometimes they get dry and make a popping sound.

there are balls on the ends of the trim rams and they are sticking they need to roll freely and the popping sound will disappear

Check the striker plates on the swivel bracket for wear/fracturing. Keep the trim ram balls greased. I didn't and my striker plates got worn out. Cost me about two degrees of trim. Picking my new striker plates up tomorrow from Rockwall Marine.
