Heard this from a guide that they were thinking about changing it to 14" to 22" . Has anybody else heard of this and what do you think about it?

New regs are already out so if its being considered its still at least a year away. I doubt they fool with it at all.

One might have to like tournaments to enjoy the slot change. It would be great for the local economy. That lake would be packed and stacked if they lowered the slot.

The guide told about 150 people he had attended a meeting with the powers to be and this is in consideration . Those meetings are public knowledge so I bet you can research it and find out. I am thinking if they were holding meetings to reduce slot at Fork it would have been well publicized and attended by area merchants and business owners. I stay to myself out there but I have not heard any buzz at all about it from anyone there. Then again anything is possible and this could easily be true.

I have been to a couple of meetings at Land's End over the years if this might be what the guide is referring to. In the meetings I attended, TPW was elusive at best in answering those types of questions. Maybe that has changed. There were normally quite a few members of the Lake Fork Sportsman's Association in attendance. In the last meeting I attended there, LFSA provided a significant check to assist in the control of hyacinth. I reckon it worked pretty good….. I have yet to see them post any minutes from the meetings that I have run across.

If it was true then I'm sure everyone would know by now.

Ummm...what would you call it right now? Not sure it could get more "packed and stacked".

At the dinner the night before a plumbing supply tournament (it was the week after McDonalds) they had a guide give a little speech on what the fish were biting on & what lures were working etc. A plumber I know said the guide mentioned they were thinking about dropping it to 22". Don't know any of these specifics about when it might happen or how serious a topic it is or even the name of the guide that said it. But there is some talk about it I guess.

That is where I heard it. At the Epic Plumbing Supply pre- tournament meeting.

I don't see what difference it would make one way or the other. I mean do that many people keep bass? Most everyone I know or see fishing throws them back, even unders and overs. If they change the slot and more fish are weighed in during tournaments, they are still released. I think what makes fork so good is all the minerals out there, the abundance of cover and food, things like that make it what it is more than the slot size right?

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
