Looking for a good setup to flip/skip docks with 1/2oz jigs. Mostly need help with rod specifications. I already have a jig rod but it seems too long for skipping around docks. Any help is appreciated!

704 C or the 663 C

I find the shorter the rod, the better it is to skip docks

Dobyn's also makes a Champion Flip/Pitch series of rods.

I would choose a 6ft 8in rod, 7ft at the longest. There many good brands out there depending on what your budget is. I mostly use a 705 Dobyns Champion or a 704 Powell Max, A 684 Powell Max is better for skipping since it is a little shorter than the 7 footer. The 684 is also a good rod for throwing senko type baits or a super fluke under docks.

I agree and I also like to use spinning tackle.

Dobyns 704C is a great all round rod. It has enough tip to flip accurately and the power to get them out. Great spinner bait rod also.
