I'm staying downtown in Corpus this week for a conference. This is my first time here and am looking for some suggestions about where I can make the most of my limited fishing time before and after the conference stuff. I brought a couple spinning rods and can run to academy or wherever to pick up any tackle I need. I really appreciate any input.

If you can swing it you should definitely hit the surf this time of year--it has been pretty good lately. If banks and rocks are your only option you can try the packery channel jetties.

I would go to Bob Hall pier if you have transportation...its not a long drive from down town.

Yes, I've got a ride with me so I can go nearly anywhere within reason. The pier at Bob Hall was packed yesterday, I didn't bother pulling in.
