IT was 1996 I think when the SRA dropped it 10 ft to work on the dam. That is the lowest I have seen it since the lake opened. Seemed like it filled back up in just 2 yrs after the work was completed. Everyone just needs to be careful.

Lots of dangerous lakes now with the levels they are at, fished ray Roberts yesterday I found several big stumps in areas I ran last year. We did a lot of idling after seeing some of them.

First time I fished Fork was in February of 2011 and it was just a little over 3' low. It's been lower than that every day since then except for about a week or so in mid-May this year. I'm sure we'll see it at full pool again, but it's gonna take a lot of rain to get it there. Fork just doesn't come up much when it rains compared to other lakes with larger watersheds.

Fork will bounce back. It always does. I was fishing it years before when it was 3 feet above pool. All the DFW lakes will come back once we get some rain.
BTW - I believe Fork was impounded in 1980, but wasn't open to the public until 1982. I could be wrong, but I've been told too many times to forget that the lake opened in 1982 not when it was impounded in 1980.

Impounded in late 1975. Stocked in 1978 by TP&W then opened to public in Sept 1980. I carried my first guide trip on Lake Fork in 1982.Final closure of the dam was in Feb 1980.

I jumped a stump in the middle of the guide lane at the Berkley's tourney.. Got lucky and missed the lower unit but just clipped my prop.. I was able to run the next day but I kept it down.. fishing was good for numbers.. we caught prob 25 and lost on big one on the last day.

Both 515 ramps are open. 515 west was one of the original ramps as was 154 public ramp. We will have to get a LOT lower before we can't get in the water

there is a stump in the guide run on the south side of the horseshoe...I would think at 6 ft low that baby should be out of the water.
There are plenty of them that come in to play at 6 ft low.
Be careful out there guys.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

my buddy in his skeeter hit the same stump today when we was going into weigh in stumps popping up all over everyone really be careful and we know the lake pretty good seeing stumps where we used to run all's I can say is scary beware on fork running .... Be careful if you are making the run from the mouth of big Mustang going north toward the 515 bridge. There is a stump in the lane as you are crossing the base of Italy's sock. I ran by it 3 times on Saturday without knowing it was there,(missed it those times) then I bumped it coming off plane when I stopped in that area. Three other boats later made that same run and never hit it but one is there. I see this was already addressed, since Italy sock and Horseshoe are the same place.
