If this is true, I really wanted to fish tomorrow at Lavon but I have never been there. Is there a place you guys would recommend to park and haul?

East fork is your best bet if you don't mind launching from the bank.... I have seen people park outside of Little Ridge and cart there kayak down to the ramp. I'm hoping I can go out on Sunday and give it a shot I was thinking East fork and paddle to where I want to fish.

As long as nothing comes up I'm fishing Lavon Sunday morning probably launch from Easy Fork at 8 or 9 and fish until 1 or 2 depending on how far I have to paddle. I want to try the rocks along the dam but if its too windy I will stay closer.

Yall might want to check with the COE and make sure it's ok to still be on the lake. Several years ago I was run off of a COE lake when the ramps were all closed. The ranger basically said since they weren't able to patrol the lake and render assistance in case of an emergency...the lake was off limits.

There are two marinas on Lavon, and at least one of them is still open so it won't be boat-free. I had a crappie slip at East Fork Marina one year, and I'm sure most of the boathouses there are sitting high and dry. Collin Park would drag their boathouses out of the cove into the main lake. The north ramp at Collin is probably the only place left to launch too if you need to drive down a ramp or otherwise get very close to the water. The COE at East Fork wouldn't let us drive down the ramp at east Fork last year at the cat camp. Pretty dumb...

I am going to Lavon in the morning and plan to launch at Colin Park. I hope they just put another barrel down by the water. If someone knows please post.
PS I plan on getting there no later than 8. I have buffalo and mackerel, will cast net some shad (I just don't always catch any). I will be cutting bait around 4 or 5, let me know if you want to chase some blues.

I have a cart to get down to the water so I don't need a ramp but it makes me wonder if what Lusca said is true. But then I think about the boats at the marina's that people can get out in. I'm gonna find out thats for sure! If East Fork won't let me take my kayak in then I will be over at Collin Park I guess.....all I know is I'm fishing somewhere tomorrow from my kayak lol!

EF let us in, we just had to cart or carry from the parking lot to the water. Instead of driving down close..

Made it to East Fork today $4 at the gate. Launched from the bank but the ramp looked usable for kayaks I checked it out on the way out today. I made the crazy long paddle over to the dam and back.... like 5 mile round trip.... now I'm tired. It was a good paddling experience. Had no trouble with the kayak at all wind was between 7 and 12 mph so I had some rollers and white caps, nothing washed over the front though. More wind than I had planned to deal with felt like I was surfing on the way back though.

Fisherman13 great job. I put in at Collin Park, was able to drive down to the water, only barrels at the waters edge. I don’t know where the 5-10 mph wind was, it was blowing big time where I was. Managed 5 blues and 2 channels. It was very strange to be the only one on the water. I saw NO power boats. I am headed to LMF next weekend for the annual trout trip, would love to have a gtg the next weekend.

It probably was a lot more than 5-12 mph winds, my phone said it was 7 but it was prob. much more. I saw at least 2 pontoon boats and at least 2 other boats out where I was by the dam. Had one boat behind me at the damn prob. about 100 yards anchored up. I saw one other kayaker out cat fishing and running jug lines near Avalon park. Spoke briefly said he hooked up and lost a really big blue right at the kayak. I saw lot of shad at Avalon where there is a little shallow cove like a small ring. As for meeting up on the weekends I have to work next weekend for sure but I usually don't even get out on the weekends today was an exception. My next days off are Wed. and Thur. Maybe eventually we can have a gtg I want try for some blue cats eventually. cheers
