I want to thank everyone for sending out the email notifications about our upcoming meeting and fishing get-together. This is just a personal invite to each of you for our Mariner Sails Kayak Fishing Club meeting tomorrow night at mariner Sails in Dallas at 6:30 PM.
Our topic will be Bass on the Fly kayak style. Our guest speakers will be Ken Morrow and Russell Husted.
While most of you know Russell I would like to give you a little background on our other speaker Ken Morrow. Ken Morrow, Founder/President of the Adaptive Fly Fishing Institute (AFFI), Certified Adaptive Fly Fishing Practitioner and outdoor writer, has penned a comprehensive guide that will educate ALL adaptive fly fishing enthusiasts. This useful handbook addresses important clinical and instructional information, and shares first hand anecdotal experiences that will help instructors and adaptive anglers as they strive to perfect their fly fishing skills. Kenʼs passion for fly fishing and his knowledge of how to achieve quality instruction is evident as the reader is skillfully guided on a wonderful journey known as adaptive fly fishing. He also is the author of a new book titled Bucketmouth, bass on the fly which he will have copies of for sale at the meeting as well.
Myself and Russell will have our vice and will be tying several fly patterns before and during the meeting. Anyone wishing to bring their vice and show folks how to tie bass flies is welcome to do so. We will have tables and chairs set up for a tying area.
Light refreshments will be served and Mariner has been known to have a drawing for something kayak fishing related at most events.
This meeting will be an exception to our normal members only and will be open to all who wish to attend.
Mariner Sails is at 11110 N Stemmons Frwy in Dallas. For directions call (972)241-1498.
Hope to see you all there,
Jerry

We had a great time last night. Some of the highlights: Mariner Sails brought in street tacos and cervesas, the overview of Heroes on the Water by founder Jim Dolan, the presentations by Russell and Ken, the prizes $50 Mariner Sails gift certificate, 2 TFO rod/reel/case combos, and a TFO Pro Series Texas Council Expo rod. It was a great time. We are looking forward to our Bass on the Fly weekend at Lake Fork Marina starting this Friday and going through Sunday. cool
