All coming to Fork for the Berkley Tourny need to be very cautious. Stumps are showing up in places they normally aren't. These are just an example. Just North of Chain Saw and East of Grimes. This area has lots of stumps that are just under the surface now. Pease all be careful and alert....

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Are there any stumps in boat runs or is it pretty safe to run as long as you stay in run?

There are stumps just about anywhere on Fork. With the lake down 6' many of theses now become an issue. Be very careful.

I have always been fine running the main lake trails (SRA buoyed lanes) at lower levels than this. I use the Lake Fork BoatLanes Chip and you will find it real close on the old trails with the exception of a few bouys that have moved but running these lanes in the main lake is still a good bet. The other lanes marked on the chip(guide lanes...) are too questionable to me at this level. I have seen stumps at this level that were in the guide lanes. Unless you have a lot of experiance and are certain: run the marked main lake lanes and idle everything else. You are rarely that far idling to a main lake marked trail. IMHO

Be very careful around Ray and Grimes, I've seen several pop up there that were not there 1-2 months ago. The stumps I have seen would ruin a lower unit easily. I know for a fact I was running right over them a few months ago. Some of these are a few inches below the surface.

Do not follow boat lanes chip when in little caney unless lake is at full pool.... It's a danger zone... Stumps directly on the red line of boat lanes chip.... There is a lane that you can run all the way to qual hollow but you have to know how to run it cuz if your off a foot to either side you will be in big time trouble!

Saw the aftermath of hitting one at speed, took the motor into the boat.

I agree with Legend.

If you plan to run a lane you have not run in the last month, you are taking a big chance. Lance's boat lanes are not all meant for 6' low. Of course there are obvious lanes that are safe until the lake is dry. I'd also avoid running into the back of Dale unless you really know that lane.

The point off chicken ridge by pump station is a danger zone also and we all know about heading out of LFM directly to the grassy knoll

I would use the main lake buoy run. I have ran the lane with the chip and slid over a stump and was lucky I did hit it with the motor. Back end of my boat just raised up a little. I checked my shorts after that one and said no more until lake comes up.

Thanks,

Chicken ridge running to mustang parallel to bank will take someone lower unit this weekend. Also will be surprised if someone doesn't hit one of he couple stumps in guide lane near mustang point or the big one on the point in guide lane near the horseshoe area
