Denny had a guy from up north fishing Fork. He was a failure. Must of got some inside inlo and refused to change baits. Also, almost lost a frw rods in the lake. Denny pulled some nice hogs out, though. This week, he is fishing Wright Patman.

Just glad to be here!

Saw that episode too. That guy didn't seem to have a clue. He was SOOOOO disorganized. I was telling my wife from the start that his front deck was a mess and he weould eventually lose or break a rod. Once he blew past those docks without making a cast, I knew Denny would freak out! You gotta feel a little sorry for the dude since I'm sure it's a bit tough to fish with the camera on you and knowing Denny is watching your every move. I like it when he said, "I give myself a 9 for map reading. I figured out how to navigate the lake in no time." Yeah, right! Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I have never seen anyone fan out 15 rods across the deck like he did. Most of 'em had traps on them. I am suprised he didn't have them stuck all over his shoes and legs of his jeans.

That was my thought too. If he could at least move them to the side and maybe attach the baits somewhere around the reel it would have helped. He looked like he had painted himself into the corner like the old Three Stooges show. Nowhere to go! Everytime he picked up 1 rod he got 3... Apparently he hadn't fished very many stump infested lakes either because you NEVER let the rod tips hang out the side of the boat. Those trees will reach and grab 'em!!

I was embarrassed for the guy. When I heard it was going to be on Fork, I was excited but was shortly let down. I think he should stick to making pizzas.

Hey give the guy a break, I think he said he was from Iowa! Ha just kidding. It was a sad showing. I've never been to Fork, but I would like to think I would have done better.

I think he should of got a 9 for navigating the lake, after all he didn't fish the docks. He didn't want to take a chance on catching a fish. He was navigating the lake. All those rods scattered all over. What was funny to me was when he picked up the spinner bait rod and unwraped it set it down and unwrapped another rod and set that one down. It drove me crazy. I don't think he didn't cast for 10 minutes or so. I knew he would get a low score. I guess he got a chance to fish on tv. so maybe that made his day.

All fishermen are legends in their own minds! Ranger Boats, Yamaha Outboards, Humminbird Electronics,Motor guide, and all the tackle in the world.

You let me have a chance...my gosh! Lake Fork, is an EASY lake compared to many lakes I fish. Dont get me wrong, its loaded with quality fish, 5,6,7,8,9,10 plus pound fish! Throw a spinner bait, throw a jig, throw a shallow crankbait, a worm, ANYTHING! On the docks, in the docks, around the docks, under the docks...those fish were asking themselves, where is this guy from? He is not a TFF guy thats for sure. laugh Ok, I'm being a bit harsh, but man, if you get a TV gig, to fish Fork, you had better catch more than 1 fish.

Now this is rich.......I am sure you guys knew that the docks he fished have produced 2 sharealunkers and (and a couple of 12s on a trotline in the creek about 40 yds away). Many of the docks have runoffs or funnel points. That stretch is awesome from prespawn to spawn as it has some good small protected flats, good deep water access and lower fishing pressure. The trees directly in front of the boat houses also have some pigs that regularly spawn in the Vs of the limbs.

Oh, the other area is a bar ditch coming from a brood pond that regularly produces big fish.......but hey, he didnt know what he was doing right?

Personally, I think he was unorganzied, intimidated and had some VERY detailed local info to find those areas.......No doubt that most everyone posting here could do much better in a foreign area like Lake Erie with a TV running...

Now with all that said, there were some other places that I would have picked first but these are places to hit during pre/post when pressure is high in community holes.

Nobody said he didn't pick a good area, it's just that he didn't bother really fishing in it. laugh Most of the above posts were relating more to organizational skills (or lack thereof). No doubt that most anglers would struggle to some degree with catching fish on a new body of water. However, that does not take away from an anglers ability to position the boat properly, staying organized, and actually making some attempts at casting for the bass.

Another point, if he did receive VERY good local info with finding those spots, then he did an even worse job than I thought. Apparently his map reading skills weren't that great either.

I felt sorry for the guy. The guy seemed nervous and I'm sure that messed up his organizational skills and confidence (fishing, baits, boating, etc.) If he was a nervous type then maybe the producers of the show screwed up by putting him on the show. Who knows? I just know that if I was on a foreign lake and being filmed AND knowing that I will be on national tv picked apart by every angler in the world, I may a bit nervous to.

true Scott, this is the third time this ahs aired and teh first 2 had folks complaining about the location.....i read a coupel and assumed.

The waters he fishes are no doubt open water compared to Texas lakes. Many folks who have not fished timber before would find it intimidating......even knowing 'how' to fish it. I am not making excuses but what comes natural to Texans is not natural for everyone. Put a texan on LSC with a 7 MPH current, a 700' ship in the channel and try to fish the river/lake marker......it would not come natural I assure you. No doubt he was unorganized and had WAY too may rods out.

As for map reading skills........the drains and brush he should have been fishing and was driving over are not on any maps.

Not quite ready for prime time player. This was a great show because the fisherman was a real average first or second year federation angler. He was probably showing off all his rods he had more than planning to fish with them.

He might have been one of the fellows that cares more about the fast boat more than fishing skills.

Ya notice that not many of these guys grade themselves very low?

I think I'd rather say a five an have Denny give me a sympathy 6
