I haven't crabbed in over 4 years (almost half a decade!) now. We use to crab in Matagorda (Little Boggy Creek off South Gulf Rd.) every Thanksgiving because we had a beach house out there. But since we moved our parents to Dayton we hadn't continued the tradition. They are really close to Anahuac, but I don't have a clue as to where there will be any good crabbing. It'll need to be a gold mine for crabbing since we bring the little ones out to do the catching and we always make gumbo from what we catch, so the area needs to have decent waters (not heavily trashed or close to any refineries). I don't mind a slightly trashed area because we always bring trash bags and clean up while the kids catch! We love to take what mother nature provides and we give back to her by cleaning up the areas we visit. I think everyone should at-the-very-least bring one trash bag with them and help keep the coasts, bays, and rivers clean for all of us to enjoy! Its a damn shame to see some of my favorite fishing areas get trashed beyond repair... this has been more common in the crabbing holes too. Anyways, I'm starting to branch off and rant! Any info on great crabbing in Anahuac is appreciated!

Whites park I believe is the name, there is a boat ramp there or the lock and damn area, don't know the name of the road, but you can get to it from either side of the river just off the Trinity river bridge. I don't know anything about either spot for crabbing, used the boat ramp at Whites park years ago to access Trinity bay.

i am a big fort anahuac fan for fishing. the commercial crabbers have the cut flooded with traps but after a overnight fishing trip sunday into monday showed that there are still crab. they ate a lot of cut bait that we had out on a hook. added extra: the trout and big croaker are hitting at fort anahuac.
