 missing kayaker on trinity river off 30 and beach

Anyone know about this? My dad saw it on the news this morning and called me about it but havent heard anything else about it. Hope they find him and everythings okay.
They said he went in after the rain and there were some small rapids that probably over turned him but they can't find him.

Especially since it has rained so much and the water is pretty high on the trinity. Sad news.

Sad... I am not familiar with that stretch of the river. Was this a flash flood incident with no PFD?
