Haven't posted a report in a long time so figured it was time to take a turn...
Launched the Solo Skiff at Park Prairie rather late at 10:00am to find 12-15 knot winds and stained water. Wanted to test out the side imaging system with a temporary mount to make sure it'll do the job before a final install. Only took a trolling motor today as time didn't permit a far or deep trip. Headed up the creeks.
Not surprising at that time of day to find a very slow bite with water temps in the 80's. Worked the frog as the snot grass kept the crank baits from being effective PLUS throwing long and covering water as scouting for any active fish is a fun way to go. Found none so I moved to the next cove, slowed down and picked up a Gasper Goo on a Texas rigged worm in about 3' of water. He fought like a decent sized bass, kept me from the skunk and ended up being the first drum I've caught on Fayette. Time was running out but wanted to press the frog through all the grass and muck and finally got an encouraging blow up. Continued to work the windy bank with scattered grass and lay downs. Back towards the ramp the one good fish of the day exploded on the top. Wow! Set the hook twice! Made the entire trip worth it as he put on a great show. Even jumped on the release which always brings a smile to my face!
Skiff performed flawlessly and the SI unit well as long as I kept the water deep enough. Seemed more sensitive to grass on the puck than my DI unit. Off the water by 2pm.
Here's the proof.

That's all I got!
