I like to fish bridge columns in the yak but have not found a great way to hook up to bridge. Anybody have a good technique? Tried my anchor and thought I was far enough away to not hang up on stuff but I was wrong and felt like anchor hung up on cable.

Fill a 16 oz bottle with water and tie a rope to it so that you can throw it around the column and then tie off your yak

Take a lightweight aluminum pole bend it into a hook shape and put a pool noodle on it it'll float you can attach a rope to the end just hook it on the column whenever you want to move all you got to do is unhook it you don't have to tie off just tie the hook onto your kayak

It seems they are close to same but don't know if all the same. Any civil engineers here? I saw a guy on fork that had something like that but it appeared to be a flexible material.

When it is a bridge column with a steel casing or steel plates I'll use a big magnet from harbor freight. I keep a float below the magnet because a big wave or gust of wind will dislodge it. Otherwise if it is just concrete, I'll use an old wrench inside of a stretch of pool noodle at the end of a rope. Sometimes it is tricky circling around to grab the weight if it's a windy day or a tight fit though.

I don't like to tie up when I crappie fish bridges. Of course, I have a pedal drive, which makes it easier to hold a spot.

I've used lengths of Romex wiring for securing items, tarp tie downs, etc. If you have a length laying around maybe that would work for you.

Get a hula hoop and cut it in half. Run your rope through it and tie a knot in the end so it won't come back through.
