We will be starting a team in the North San Antonio area, but the area will only depend on how far families want to drive. We will do monthly meetings in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area and I believe that kids from as far as San Marcos, New Braunfels, San Antonio and Boerne will be interested; they will certainly be welcome. We will register the team and be a part of TBF's Student Angler Federation. We are very much in the early stages of getting the word out across the area, so I think the first meeting can't happen until early December to realistically expect a decent turn-out. The plan will be to start slow, organize some service projects, educational presentations at meetings, small internal tournaments, and participate in any of the "open" events in the Austin area, particularly with the Faith Angler Network High School fishing series. We will then be fully prepared for much larger aspirations in the 2015-16 school year.
I will post specifics of the first meeting as soon as we lock things in better....but, looking at December 3rd at 6:30 pm. I will try to get flyers up in as many Academy's, grocery stores, schools, bass clubs, BPS and other places as possible in the near future.
I'm just a Dad who realizes that time spent hunting and fishing with my family growing up shaped who I am and it's time to give some of it back. I hope to post more in the future about asking for boat captains or other assistance as this takes shape.

Deal me in. I have 6yr old and a 4yr old. Would much rather see them fish for their high school than bust their bodies up like their uncle and I did. I, too, was shaped by the outdoors and the memories (thousands) made with my recently deceased Dad. I'm game for giving back.
