Looking at heading down there in a week or so. From the park map, it looks like you could fish off the beach or inland. Any suggestions? Also, should I use a life vest is I'm wading?

We went with a group a couple of weeks ago and fished the bay side, the waders caught a mixed bag of fish on free lined live shrimp.
Sorry couldn't tell you how else to wade fish there, I am not allowed to wade anymore, so I just feed the bait fish off of the shore. It was my first time there, so I don't have much knowledge of the area.

Parts of the bay side are hard enough to wade, and parts are too soft. Go to the kayak launch by the RV areas, at Lake Como, and you can wade that area. I've caught reds, specks, flounder, ladyfish, cats, and rays there. That's where the bride generally fishes while I'm off in the kayak flinging flies. There's usually enough baitfish and shrimp in the area that you can catch all you need with a cast net. Don't forget to shuffle your feet as you wade; there's no shortage of rays in the area.
