Ok so this has been happening all year. Catching this type of fish with top fins connected and double patches on tongue and broken lines all through the length of the body. Yellows are the only fish with top fins connected and no tooth patch. Hybrids and stripers the only one's that have two tooth patches. Yellows have broken lines but only above the anal fin. I have never caught yellows in JP only sandies and there are no hybrids or stripers. Is this some sub species? No lakes flow into JP.im sure mountain creek has some yellows that may have swam up into the dam intake of JP but highly unlikely. Still doesn't explain the double tooth patch. And broken lines fron head to tail [/URL[URL=http://s1157.photobucket.com/user/bubbaj115/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-10/20141004_121144.jpg.html]

I would say it's a hybrid yellow bass. Which is a white bass + yellow bass. A natural hybridization in Texas they call it.

It is a hybrid yellow. They are very common on Benbrook and are spreading throughout the TRWD lakes via the water interchange network. I do not know how they got into Joe Pool.

Yup, Hybrid Yellow.
They are starting to get thick on Lavon now too. Everyday we will catch 3-4 of them.

Ive caught many yellows on various other lakes but not until this year on JP. Anyone been catching em before this year? I have fished the lake since it opened just seems strange I have never caught any until this year.

Some very knowledgeable people have voted on a hybrid yellow. For legal purposes does the game warden consider it a yellow or a sandie?

So the daily bag limit is 25 or no limit?

I think that for hybrids, the rules for the more restricted parent species applies. I would place my bet on the limit being 25. (included in the white bass bag limit. Probably needs to be 10 inches long as well.)
